We handle land clearing in Goose Creek for wooded homesite lots and back lots lost to brush. Goose Creek is the most populous city in Berkeley County, with 45,946 people at the 2020 Census. That is up from 35,938 in 2010, and the city itself was established in 1961. Our land clearing service grinds brush and saplings into mulch, and the trees you want to keep stay standing.
The Cooper River and the Back River form the city's east side, and Ladson borders it on the west. The city takes its name from Goose Creek, a tributary of the Cooper River. We run forestry mulching on a Kubota SVL compact track loader with a mulching head. Everything we grind stays on the ground as mulch, so there is nothing to burn and nothing to haul off.

Our lot and homesite clearing opens up a wooded Goose Creek lot and keeps the soil covered. The mulcher grinds the thicket into mulch on the spot, and your keeper pines and oaks stay put. You end up with open ground you can see across and plan around, with the shade trees still in place. We cover every Goose Creek neighborhood, including Carnes Crossroads, Liberty Hall Plantation, Boulder Bluff and Back River Bend.
Behind many yards, the wood line creeps forward a little every year until the back of the lot is gone. Brush clearing pushes that line back and leaves a clean mulched edge you can mow right up to. It works the same whether your place is off St. James Avenue or out on Old Moncks Corner Road. Hanahan to the southwest and Ladson to the west are part of our range too.
Goose Creek covers 42.84 square miles. Where hardwoods stand over a thick understory, hardwood understory clearing mulches the brush and small stems under the canopy. The big trees stay, and you get open woods you can see into and move through again. If your land runs down to the Cooper or Back River, check the city's flood hazard controls first.
Old fields and open ground need a lighter touch, so we bring the tractor and its brush hog. Bush hogging on a regular schedule keeps those fields from sliding back into brush and saplings. We plant food plots and mulch the understory on our family's own 327-acre tract in the ACE Basin near Yemassee. Your Goose Creek ground gets that same care, with the right machine matched to the growth on it.
Goose Creek's Unified Development Ordinance, adopted in June 2026, sorts trees by DBH, the trunk's diameter at breast height. A grand tree is at least 24 inches DBH, and a protected tree is at least eight inches DBH. Sweet gums and invasive species fall outside both classes, and pines fall outside the protected one. Unless an exemption applies, cutting either kind takes a city Land Disturbance Permit, and our work leaves them standing.
Under the same ordinance, certain new residential subdivisions of 25 acres or more must keep tree corridor areas. Those corridors are marked on the site plan or final plat, so check the plat before clearing a back line. For new construction in Goose Creek, stormwater plan reviews go through the Berkeley County Engineering Department. Our guide to land clearing permits covers the state rules, and the city and county set the local ones.
